Experience the comfort and convenience of online counseling

The choice to exclusively offer online counseling was intentional- to remove barriers and allow for more convenience for my clients. Aside from eliminating exposure concerns of COVID-19, telehealth has many additional benefits.

Let’s be honest, counseling can be challenging enough on its own, without having to worry about the logistics of making it to session. Online therapy eliminates the cost of transit or parking. If you don’t have access to a ride or a reliable vehicle, you can still make it to session. No need to commute is especially relevant during harsh weather conditions, which are no longer a barrier to your care.

Meeting online increases access to services not just in urban centers, but rural areas as well. My counseling services can now meet you where you are, spanning the entire state of North Carolina. Additionally, clients can experience the comforts of home, pets, and familiar surroundings during session, which can enhance the therapeutic process and help ease your nerves. Simply pick a comfy, quiet spot, click your personalized video link, and you’re ready to go.

Telehealth is also ideal if you are a private person that values confidentiality. You no longer have to worry about waiting room encounters with other clients or staff. Rest assured that sessions are secure. My practice provides a HIPAA-compliant platform that ensures your personal medical information remains protected.

Is online counseling secure?

My online counseling platform utilizes HIPAA-compliant, encrypted, secure video to ensure your confidentiality. Sessions are never recorded or saved. To help improve your security, try to find a private place where you are alone.

Will I be able to connect to an online session?

Ensure you have a phone, tablet, laptop, or other device with internet connection. If you can stream videos, like YouTube or Netflix, you have a strong enough connection for online counseling.

Do you offer text-based counseling?

At the moment, I do not offer counseling via text or other messaging. I’ve found that the live, interactive, face-to-face nature of video therapy surpasses other forms of communication.

Should I be aware of any disadvantages of online counseling?

Choosing online counseling is more about preference than risk. I’m trained in providing psychotherapy through an online platform and can assess if it will be appropriate for your needs. I take into account your mental health status, ethics, law, and confidentiality when providing online counseling.

Who is not a good fit for online counseling?

-You are in urgent crisis/emergency situation
